Chelsa is AMAZING! Working with her for our wedding was a dream. She was so fun, positive, creative, great with the kids, professional and just down right AWESOME. From the first phone call with her to meeting up and going over shot lists and the wedding itself it was best experience. I'm not one that is very comfortable in front of a camera, but she made us feel so comfortable relaxed and was the ultimate hype girl. I can't say enough good things about Chelsa. I'm honestly sad our time working together is over. My husband had been listening in to Chelsa and I's first phone call together and afterward he looked over at me and said, "Did you guys just become best friends?" She just has that effect of making you feel important, cared about and she is so incredibly genuine. Her work is absolutely STUNNING! I couldn't even believe the pictures she got. Chelsa is wildly talented and you are sooo lucky if you get a chance to work with her. Thank you Chelsa!!!
After deciding against a big wedding, my fiancé and I chose to have an intimate elopement in Girdwood, Alaska down Crow Creek Mine road. My vision and vibe for our elopement was moody and romantic, with a touch of whimsical, and Chelsa 100% delivered.
She was professional but fun, structured when we needed to be but also go with the flow, a photographer and a witness for us, and we had a total blast with her. Our pictures turned out exactly how I was wanting them to and I wouldn’t have wanted anyone else there to celebrate our day with us.
She laughed with us, she cried with us, and we loved having her creative soul with us for our special day. Chelsa made our already perfect day even better.

Edited to add -- Chelsa also got us our images freakishly fast. I always heard from friends and family it takes months to get your images back -- Chelsa literally had a sneak peek for us the day after our wedding. I'm not saying that happens every time for every event, but it happened with us, and it was super cool to get that bit of instant gratification. :)
Chelsa is the best. Hire her! Having the RIGHT photographer to capture the important moments from my wedding was among my top priorities. As someone who eloped on a Glacier with our only witnesses being the photographer and videographer we planned to hire, it became incredibly important for us to have the right (and the best) people surrounding us. Having someone there with talent, a complimentary personality we felt comfortable with, and professional was our criteria. Chelsa hits every mark!

I wanted someone who knew which moments were important to capture- from the obvious moments, like our first kiss, to the moments that were less evidently important, like a passing look. Chelsa not only has the talent to capture those special moments, but the “knowing when” to factor. It was not about the little details for me, like photographing my bouquet (though she did that too- she even picked it up from the florist for me!) What was important, was having someone there who understood the most important moments occurred more subtly- and being able to catch those moments without direction, as they unfolded authentically. In essence, we wanted someone who knew what to do, so we didn’t have to! Chelsa is incredibly knowledgeable in her craft, and she will get it all!
Chelsa took my wedding photos at Knik Glacier. As a true professional, Chelsa knew the helicopter company employees, the lay of the ever-changing land (i.e. the best spots on the glacier), and how to coordinate with the various other vendors we used. More than just a photographer, Chelsa shared her pro tips about who else we could work with to have the RIGHT team and also made great recommendations about enjoying the truest Alaskian experience- from tourist attractions to native favorites. All her knowledge greatly contributed to our perfect wedding and Alaska trip.
Moreover, Chelsa has the ideal balance of professionalism coupled with hype-womanism. (Ya know, the good kind you want on your wedding day.) She has such a relaxed but engaging personality that makes you feel comfortable and confident to bring out your best, most photographic moments. She fit seamlessly into our wedding day.
Most importantly, Chelsa has the talent. Our wedding photos were incredible! We opted to keep our wedding a secret and surprised our family with the news that we were already married at our bridal shower. (Obviously we did things a bit backwards in that regard.) Everyone was so enthralled with the beautiful photos, no one cared that we excluded them from the experience. We look back at each of the hundreds of photos and feel right back in the moment.

I can’t recommend Chelsa enough! I am beyond thankful we booked her for our Alaskan elopement last July. She is not only an amazing, talented and wonderful photographer she is such an out going person to make sure you have the best day possible! We booked our elopement with La Boum Events and was recommended Chelsa by our wedding planner, after our first phone call we had with Chelsa I knew she was a winner! Even after our wedding she still keeps in touch, she is such a sweet soul and we are beyond thankful we got to meet her and have her a part of our Big Day!

Right from our very first interaction with Chelsa, we knew not only was she the real deal (I mean her photos speak for themselves), but we also knew that we were going to a have a stress-free, great time! She had the best recommendations and was very responsive and timely (which goes a long way with my wife who is deep in the event industry). The planning for the photography was smooth and I remember that it all just flowed. It was a major relief to not have to worry about photography nor the locations—as Chelsa coordinated the ceremony location (Hatcher Pass) and all of the subsequent post-ceremony photo locations as well! As for the day of the wedding itself, again, everything just flowed! You kind of never even knew Chelsa was there until she swooped in to organize a particular photo she had in mind. And these micro-interactions were always pleasant and gracious… never one of those “you stand there and you over there” types. We never felt rushed nor pressured to do some different kind of shot or angle or anything like that. Like I said… flow.
And then of course after the ceremony, the ensuing photo session was an absolute blast! We literally hiked around Hatcher Pass and then went to several spots in the surrounding area and it was like this mini adventure where we really got to unwind and be even more ourselves. It was on this little voyage where we really got to talk with and get to know Chelsa more and it was one of those instant-click kind of things. On top of everything, she is a really great and fun person!
Once again, for the reception, she kind of blended into the landscape only dropping in for a few coordinated photos and being fun when doing so. And of course the end product speaks for itself. I myself am a filmmaker/videographer of ~20 years, so I know a thing or two about good photography and I was blown away with Chelsa’s work. I could go on and on here about the particulars here, but I invite anyone reading this to simply see her work for yourself! Bottom-line, if you’re looking for the best. Chelsa is it!
