This Seward, Alaska elopement was one of my favorite aesthetics to date—and we even had the cutest baby on board. Meet Julia and Charlie, a couple who have spent years adventuring together. From a small Appalachian town north of Atlanta, they made the journey all the way to Seward for the greatest adventure of all: their wedding day during a unique Seward Alaska elopement.
As far as Alaskan elopement photography goes, this was the kind of session I live for. It was intimate, quiet, and blessed with the most beautiful summer weather imaginable. The golden sunlight, a soft breeze, and the perfect temperature allowed for a thigh-length wedding dress to shine during their Seward elopement in Alaska.
Starting the Day in Scenic Seward, Alaska
We began in Seward, nestled along Resurrection Bay, known for its dramatic coastline, wildflower-dotted beaches, and photo-ready seaside cabins. Our first stop was Miller’s Landing, a charming mix of tackle shop and charter office. Here, we wandered near the docks, warmed by the afternoon sun. The excitement was in the air, setting the perfect scene for a Seward Alaska elopement.
Freshly caught halibut hung from a wooden arch—an iconic photo op for locals—and I grabbed a few warm-up shots before the real elopement adventure began, capturing the essence of eloping in Seward, Alaska.

A Private Boat Elopement Adventure
Julia and Charlie chartered a landing craft—a medium-sized metal boat perfect for beach landings. We cruised through Resurrection Bay, surrounded by silty blue waters, towering rock spires, and glacier-capped mountains. It was the epitome of an Alaska adventure elopement.
Inside the boat, I captured sweet moments of the couple taking in the views and scouting potential beaches. But the real star? Their adorable baby, Ozzy, who radiated joy. He gave us some of the most heart-melting family shots of the day, truly highlighting the essence of a Seward Alaska elopement in their adventure.
Exploring Remote Coves for the Ceremony
We made our way onto the deck, and I even climbed up to the cabin roof for a high-angle perspective. Ozzy gave the captain’s wheel a try before we pulled into Spire Cove and then Thumb Cove. Here, Julia and Charlie chose to say “I do.”
Thumb Cove, with its rocky shoreline, distant sailboats, and Alaska’s signature wild vibe, was nothing short of magical. Julia, rocking white Doc Martens, completely embodied the spirit of a destination adventure bride. She was completely at ease in this rugged, romantic landscape of Seward Alaska during their elopement.

An Intimate Ceremony on the Alaskan Shoreline
With waves lapping just yards away and their boat waiting nearby, the couple exchanged vows in one of the most breathtaking elopement settings I’ve witnessed. Little Ozzy, looking dapper in a navy-blue tuxedo to match his dad’s, played in the sand and beamed during their beach ceremony, adding delight to their Seward Alaska elopement.
Their vows told stories of shared travels and their quirky Tinder meet-cute, reminding us all of the beauty in taking chances. From campervan road trips to now marrying in Seward with a new baby, their love had clearly weathered miles—and only grown stronger, amidst their elopement in Alaska.
Fireweed Fields and Golden Hour Dreams
After the ceremony, we wandered into a fireweed-filled field beneath a towering mountain face. It was golden hour in Alaska—the sun barely setting but casting that dreamy glow. The light bounced off the sea, their skin, their smiles, and gave the photos a vintage, timeless warmth. It captured the essence of a Seward Alaska elopement.

Woodsy Romance and Wild Alaska Moments
No Alaska elopement is complete without venturing into the mossy woods. Among the evergreens, ferns, and filtered sunlight, we captured whimsical shots straight out of a storybook. Each quiet pocket of the cove revealed stunning mountain views and private beaches—perfect for peaceful, candid moments.

A Joyful Ending to an Epic Day
As the sun dipped low, we boarded The Michaela, our boat, and headed back to Seward. Baby Ozzy, sleepy from a day full of love and laughter, curled up with memories of their Seward elopement winding down.
Julia later told me they had debated leaving Ozzy at home—but thank goodness they didn’t. His smile was the thread that tied the whole day together, turning a destination elopement into a celebration of family.
Even more poetic, this couple who began their love story traveling in a campervan are now continuing the tradition. They are setting out on their first Alaskan road trip as a family, marking their Seward Alaska elopement as the start of their journey together.

Alaska Elopement Goals: Love, Scenery, and Storytelling
This day was the very definition of Alaskan elopement goals. I feel incredibly honored to have captured the start of Julia and Charlie’s next chapter. The love, the setting, and that sweet little boy made this day unforgettable, perfectly portraying their Seward Alaska elopement.
Thank you, Julia, Charlie, and Ozzy, for letting me be part of such a beautiful journey.
